Advice Surgery

Theresa holds an advice surgery on the first Saturday of every month (except August) between 10.30am and 12.00pm at her constituency office at 163 High Street, Barnet, EN5 5SU.

No appointment necessary, however, if you are thinking of attending, you are advised to contact Theresa's office in advance since many cases can be more swiftly dealt with via phone, email or letter rather than with an Advice Bureau meeting. You can contact Theresa's staff on 020 8447 4712 or theresa@theresavilliers.co.uk.

Theresa Villiers MP, for Chipping Barnet, experienced at firsthand what is involved in delivering the post when she joined local postwoman, Claire Stainton, on her delivery round in York Road and other streets in New Barnet today.

VILLIERS REFLECTS ON A HISTORIC STATE VISIT BY THE IRISH PRESIDENT

At the end of a momentous week, Theresa Villiers reflects on the the importance of the first ever state visit by the President of Ireland to the UK, saying: "The visit was a spectacular success and I felt very honoured to play a part in it."

"It was a very visible demonstration the transformation of the relationship between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland and the bonds of friendship and mutual respect that now unite us across these islands."

"The word “historic” can sometimes be over-used but the events of recent days genuinely deserve that description. None of this would have been possible without Northern Ireland’s peace process and the political progress it has made possible. This week will be one I remember always, not least sitting in on a meeting between President Higgins and Mayor Boris where they struck up a conversation in classical Greek!"

VILLIERS SUPPORTS "VISION OF CYPRUS" EXHIBITION BY DOROS PARTASIDES

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, this week attended the opening of an exhibition of photos by Doros Partasides entitled "A Vision of Cyprus" in the House of Commons. The exhibition was sponsored by Matthew Offord, MP for Hendon and formally opened by Minister for Europe, David Lidington.

Speaking after the event, Theresa Villiers said: "It is great to be here supporting this wonderful exhibition by Doros Partasides. VILLIERS SUPPORTS EVENT TO MARK BANGLADESHI INDEPENDENCE DAY

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, today attended an event in Regent College, Imperial Drive, Harrow, to mark Bangladeshi Independence Day which takes place every year on 26th March.

She was there to support Hannah David, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Harrow West, and Conservative local election candidates in Harrow, including Mohammed Eaoyor Shaikh. The event was well attended by leading members of the Bangladeshi community.

In her speech to the meeting, Theresa said "It is a great honour to be here to take part in your celebrations of Bangladeshi Independence Day. This is an important event in the UK calendar.
