On Sunday, Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, attended the annual Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration at Middlesex University's Ricketts Quadrangle in the Burroughs, Hendon. Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has joined local campaigners in welcoming the sale of the Barnet Market site to UBS, the parent company of the neighbouring Spires Shopping Centre. It is hoped the sale will mean the site's facilities are improved and the market can begin to return to its former glory. In recent years, the privately owned market has suffered from a series of setbacks leading to its decline. Some years ago, the owners of the market were granted planning permission to redevelop the site in St Alban’s Road, so long as they continued to provide a home for the market. |

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has joined the Cat Hill Campaign Team in urging local residents in East Barnet and Cockfosters to write to Enfield Council after housing association L&Q submitted amended plans. Information about the amendments is only being sent to residents who submitted and objection to the original plans and will not be widely publicised. In the new plans, L&Q have removed one block of three storey high flats and reduced the number of houses. However, in their place, an extra storey has been added to other three and four storey flats.
