Villiers supports Tamil community at event for All Party Parliamentary Group on Tamils

Theresa Villiers was present for the first ever Annual Dinner for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Tamils and the British Tamil Forum. Theresa is a strong supporter of efforts to achieve justice for the Tamil people. Many other Conservatives were there to support the British Tamil community including Lee Scott MP, Bob Blackman MP, Robert Halfon MP, Nick de Bois MP, Gavin Barwell MP, Chris Grayling MP, Roger Evans AM, and Charles Tannock MEP. Nick de Bois read a statement by Prime Minister David Cameron and Chris Grayling, Secretary of State for Justice, gave a speech supporting the Tamil community.

Chipping Barnet MP at Religious Freedom Report Launch

Chipping Barnet MP, Theresa Villiers last week attended the launch of the Open Doors’ Freedom of Religion and the Persecution of Christians Report in the Houses of Parliament.  The report used detailed information to demonstrate that religious persecution of Christians worldwide increased in 2014, particularly in the Middle East and Nigeria.

VILLIERS WELCOMES OPENING OF MARGARET THATCHER MEMORIAL GARDEN AT NORTH LONDON HOSPICE

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has warmly welcomed the establishment of a memorial garden in honour of Margaret Thatcher at North London Hospice in Woodside Park. Ms Villiers attended the formal opening of the garden at the weekend by Mike Freer MP and Harvey Thomas. Mr Thomas was Mrs Thatcher’s Director of Communications and is now a resident of High Barnet.

VILLIERS WELCOMES SUPPORT FROM DEMOCRATIC RALLY UK – SISTER PARTY OF THE BRITISH CONSERVATIVES

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet and long time friend of Cyprus addressed the annual dinner of Democratic Rally UK at the weekend. The event was hosted by Andreas Papaevripedes in his 20th year as chairman of the Democratic Rally UK and the guest of honour was Cyprus Finance Minister, Harris Georgiades. Over 200 people attended, including Nick de Bois, the MP for Enfield North. The event took place at the Penridge Banqueting suite, N11.

VILLIERS REPRESENTS HM GOVERNMENT AT REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

Theresa Villiers MP yesterday represented Her Majesty's government at the Remembrance Sunday commemoration at the cenotaph at Belfast City Hall. Following the ceremony, at which she laid a wreath, Theresa Villiers said:"I was very honoured to be able to represent the Government in the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at Belfast City Hall. It was poignant to be remembering those who gave their lives in service of their country during the year when we are commemorating the centenary of the outbreak of World War One.
