Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has welcomed assurances from Greg Clark MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, on action the Government is taking to try to mitigate the impact of the Cyprus banking crisis on UK residents. Greg Clark MP has written to the group of five north London MPs, Theresa Villiers, David Burrows, Nick de Bois and Mike Freer, who he met in April to update them on the situation relating the Cyprus banks operating in the UK. |

Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, was welcomed to local Indian restaurant, ZaynZah in Colney Hatch Lane, on Friday after nominating them for the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition, which celebrates South Asian cuisine. The competition, which is run by MPs, is in its 8th year, and aims to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country in a bid to raise money for charity. Following representations made on behalf of their constituents, Barnet MPs, Theresa Villiers and Mike Freer, met Greg Clark MP, Treasury Minister, to discuss concerns around the banking crisis in Cyprus and the impact it is having on UK citizens who bank with Laiki's branches in the UK. Enfield MPs, Nick de Bois and David Burrows, were also present along with Peter Droussiotis, Michael Ellinas, Andreas Papaevripides and Bambos Charalambous from the National Federation of Cypriots.
