MP for Chipping Barnet, Theresa Villiers, joined leading Barnet Conservatives at a democratic rally in Trafalgar Square to call for peace in the Middle East...
Cllr. Mike Freer, Cllr Matthew Offord, Brian Coleman AM and Theresa Villiers MP attended the Trafalgar Square Rally on Sunday, which called for an end to Hamas Terror and pleaded for peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.
Cllr Mike Freer said, “Hamas Rockets have been raining down on Israel from Gaza on a daily basis. Faced with that grim reality, embattled Israel really has no choice but to defend herself. It is vital these attacks stop, so that peace can be restored for both sides and we can work towards the two-state solution.”
Deputy Leader Cllr. Matthew Offord commented, “All loss of life is regrettable. But Israel has been under siege and is defending itself. The actions of Hamas are causing so much pain and suffering to both Israelis and the Palestinians. Hamas must stop its attacks. Full stop.”
London Assembly Member for Barnet & Camden Cllr. Brian Coleman said, “I was proud to be standing with the community. For too long Hamas has been allowed to get away with this – no longer can they be allowed to.”
Theresa Villiers MP concluded, "I am gravely concerned about the situation in Gaza. I support the right of Israel to defend its citizens from Hamas terrorist attacks. The rally demonstrated strong support for the search for peace in the Middle East. I hope that a ceasefire agreement can be reached soon and this must include the complete cessation of Hamas rocket attacks."
